Hello Parents!

Hello Parents!

KendyllIn case you missed the exciting news, Bet David has embarked on a journey to make the younger congregants feel at home at shul.

I have joined the Bet David family as the full time youth worker and I plan to ensure that the children are able to learn and grow all while having an fun time.

To give you more of an idea of programming; every Friday during that Kabbalat Shabbat service, in the Youth Centre we will have fun crafts and activities. We have divided Saturday mornings into a children’s service for about an hour followed by different Shabbat activities. These activities are open to all children aged 3 – 10 (or around there).

For those of you with children in Cheder, they will be joining me every alternate week for the service, so don’t worry they too will get in on the action.

Some of the things I have lined up for the forthcoming Shabbat programmes include:

  • Learning about the shul, the aron kodesh, the torah, the ner tamid
  • Having a brocha party where we eat all kinds of foods and learn the blessing that go with them
  • Weekly Parsha activities (this week we are making the 12 gem stoned chest plate of the Kohein Hagadol/High Priests)
  • The Shabbat Table

These are just a few examples of the great things to come

Other activities that we will be doing include weekend sleepovers, outings and socials; these more enticing for the older children.

Finally, as a reminder we will be having our first Parents Meeting on Monday 22 February at 18:00 in the shul. We will be discussing the calendar of events as well as open the floor to you as the parents to give suggestions or feedback as to what you would like to see. Hope to see you all there! Please RSVP for security and catering purposes.

If at any stage you have questions, feedback or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me either via email or on telephonically.

Looking forward to having all your beautiful children with us!

Regards
