It is with great sadness we advise the passing of Rabbi Robert A. Rothman in New York, USA on Monday 13 April, aged 89.

Rabbi Rothman had achieved 8 academic degrees during his studies and was a Chaplain Colonel in the US Army, serving abroad in conflict areas. Rabbi Rothman retired from the Community Synagogue of Rye after 45 years and spent his years in retirement serving as rabbi to communities in Italy, South Africa and the USA.

During this time, he served as our rabbi of Bet David (2004-2006) and officiated at many Bar Mitzvahs and life cycle events. He was highly respected and admired.

Our heartfelt condolences to his wife Miriam, daughters Jessica, Kay and Dee and their families.

Baruch Dayan HaEmet.

Wishing you all Chag Sameach.  Keep safe and well.

Rabbi Adrian Schell, Bet David Management and staff
