Shabbat Beha’alotecha @ Bet David

Some of our Cheder Learners

Dear Congregants and Friends,

We hope that this finds you all well. After a very meaningful and successful Shavuot, we are heading now towards the quieter time of the Jewish Calendar, allowing us to take a deep breath before we start preparing for the High Holy Days in September.

Our first stop in this journey will be our upcoming Shabbat services tomorrow evening (18h00) and on Saturday morning (10h00). As announced, these services will be the first back from our sanctuary since the beginning of the lockdown, and we are quite excited about it. Because our main concern remains to keep everyone of our community safe and healthy, we will not able to allow congregants to join us for the services in the sanctuary, but only via stream on YouTube and Facebook Live. Please see hereto the letter of our chairman on page 2 in the AdKan Newsletter (

Over the past weeks, we have established a genuinely nice way to meet fellow congregants, and you are all invited to join us, when we have our community Havdalah and the Sunday High Tea. Both take place as Zoom Meetings and allow to see your friends from the community and to join the conversation, usually for an hour and a half. Details about how you can join the Havdalah and the High Tea are in the AdKan ( and below. We hope to see many of you joining.

We conclude with asking you to take notice of the SAAPR/SAUPJ statement on the front page of the AdKan, condemning racial prejudice and police brutality.

Wishing you all a peaceful Shabbat.
