Mitzvah Day – Thank you!

Mitzvah Day could not have been the success it was without the kindness and generosity of everyone involved. Special ‘thank yous’ should be given out to everyone who helped make it happen. To the Bet David Kehillah, Monica Solomon and Steve Solomon for the donations that allowed us to buy a hearty lunch for the children as well as Brad Soekoe for his donation and the use of his Stallion transporters to bring the kids to and from the park.

To Greg, Ruth and Janis Jordan for not only donating bubbles for each child but also arriving on the day with a trailer filled with watermelons, utensils and tables for us to use for our picnic. To Beatrice, Ethan and Jarred Lewis for the amazing party packs for each child as well as for playing so wonderfully with the kids. A special thank you to my mom, Sue Jacobson, who travelled up from Durban to be with us and who along with my other family, Barbara, Bryony and Justin Michel, made cupcakes for each child to decorate and eat.

To everyone who was present during the event and who made sure the children always had a smile on their faces; Antonio Coreejes, Tertius Carstens, Lesley Shipton, Jody Farber, Tom Jackson, Vicky Heger, Pam, Moshe and Tinashe Simwawa, Darryl Egnal, Sharon Margo and Jayde’s friend Xia. Lastly to Rabbi Schell, Nikki and Jayde Soekoe for all the help, support and laughs that went into planning this, thank you for helping me make the idea come to fruition.
