On Saturday we will celebrate with Shayna her Bat Mitzvah, and in the evening, we will welcome Rabbi Emma Gottlieb for “Havdalah and Talk” in our Shul. Friday evening we will bid farewell to Clayton and Kym, who are leaving us for Israel in the next week.

About Shayna—Bat Mitzvah
Hi my name is Shayna. I am a student at Reddam House Bedfordview where I am in grade 7. I have two dogs, four cats and two very annoying brothers that I love to bits. I love to play soccer, hockey and netball when I’m not doing swimming or cross country, but my favourite hobby is acting. One day I plan to be a famous actress. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for my loving mother who has supported and encouraged me though everything. (Shayna’s Batti is this Saturday morning @ 09h30)
There is a new Rabbi in SA!
Curious to meet the new Rabbi of Temple Israel, CT? Rabbi Emma Gottlieb is the new rabbi of our sister congregation Temple Israel in Cape Town. She is coming to Johannesburg this Shabbat and will be visiting Bet David in the evening to introduce herself to our congregation. Join us to meet this wonderful woman and amazing rabbi.
